Selling clothes that you no longer wear is good for both the environment and your wallet. We asked Emil Franzén – one of our sustainable rebels – for tips on a top Yaytrade boutique.

Which piece should people keep an eye out for in your Yaytrade store?
Forward thinking is always fun and there is nothing more exciting than a futuristic garment. Watch out for a MSGM jumper with a chunky chain – it will make your whole outfit.

What do you think would be a good wardrobe investment?
Leather is always durable. Spend an extra penny on items made from authentic materials that you know will last a long time. For shoes you wear often, remember to clean and waterproof them, then they will always look fresh even after a few years. And why not invest in a shoe tree, to secure the shoe’s future.

What is your #1 piece of advice for selling second hand?
I am completely new to selling goods second hand, but one thing I’ve learned is to stop holding on to things that I never wear – things I know that someone else could enjoy. I have a lot of clothes with sentimental value, but which I’ll probably never wear again. I’ve finally learned to bid adieu to these garments and keep my fingers crossed that they can please another person, rather than of just hang lifeless in my closet forever.
